Howie I went to grammy's house for Thanksgiving recently and I was able to get this photo of my brother sitting on grammy's bran new recliner. I told mommy he looks like a rump roast with fur, and she told me it wasn't nice to say things about your brother like that. I told mommy I cannot help that my little mind runs to food all the time, after all, I am a pug! So, my question for you is, in your house, when the zombies come, who would get eaten first? Hmmm?

Bajas is not only handsome, he is a brave metropolitan

This here is Reality Show Pug Howie

I'm a star of my new show, Reality Pug TV. That there good lookin' pug laying in the orthopedic pug bed with two chicks is me. I'm the good lookin' one on the right. The two fat ones to the left are my sisters, Hannah and AnnieSmelly. My main man Java is there in the back, ready to do my biddin should I need a chilled beverage or the remote.

Maw and Paw hooked up the pug cam a few months ago and didn't tell me. I didn't find out about it til I got busted calling my girlfriend Pearley the other day on maws cell phone. Pearley and me we like to chat about important things, like making art out of our poo. Aye Tee and Tee got suspicious about excessive pugtexting and called maw at work one day, and that's when the turdleys hit the fan.

Now I just lay here all day, bossin my peeps, fartin on my sisters, and snoring. Tune in tomorrow for another riveting photo from the pug cam. Dad says with all this action and adventure, the pug cam is definitely not a premium channel, but what does he know. He should go back and play angry birds on his phone and mind his own bidness or somethin' already.

She said when I am sleeping, I am not digging the bath towels in the washroom into a pile to pee on. She says when I am sleeping I am not attacking my reflection in the oven door. She says when I am sleeping, I am not barking at her art clients who come to the house for important transactions involving square things that hang on the walls and look at me with frozen smiles on their faces while I fuss at them for not paying attention to me. She says when I am sleeping I am not trying to give my brother Howie a spankin for being annoying. And she says when I am sleeping, I am cute as a little smooshy nose bug in a rug. So as you can plainly see, I am perfect except for nine or 10 things.

This here is AnnieBee, soon to be former Colgate Model and spokespug.

I went to see Dr. Carter who adores me last week, cuz mama said I kept drooling. I told mama that feeding me more often would cure that problem, but she persisted since she is such a worry wart. Dr. Carter is a special tooth doctor with creedentials for orthodontia and he is from Alabama and he always tells everybody I'm the cutest pug he has ever seen, but who can blame him? The truth is, after mama left, Dr. Carter took seven of my teeth to add to the teeth necklace of mine he made last time I went to see him that I told yew about.

I tried to explain to his nurse that I need my pearly whites, most especially all my crooked bottom front teeth, since they are one of my endearing imperfections. *Howie rolls his eyes* But Dr. Carter insisted they were all broken and "just hanging on." I asked for some nice white veneers like Lindsey Lohan, but he thought I was joking! Then he got real worried, he told mama later, cuz he found a big pocket of infection under one of my back teeth. When I finally woke up from the sleepy juice, I had extra wrinkleys on my noggin, and everyone had to carry me around like a baby.

I enjoyed that attention, but now when I smile, all I see is gumline and my canine teefs showing! Howie said it makes me look more like a vampire, which is closer to my true nature, but mama is sad that my lip won't curl up for my signature snaggletooth smile any more. I think she's just upset that my Colgate spokespug contract could get canceled and so she can't spend money like a crazy mama any more. After all, how I can be their model any more now that I only gots a few toofs left? The worst part *baby pugs cover your ears and leave the room please* is I cannot play with any toys for TWO WEEKS. WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT??? *baby pugs can come back in the room now*

I jest read my pal Tweedley's thankful post and it got me to thinkin about all the stuff I am thankful for. I hope all yew of my friends had a good turkey day. Sorry I am late to say that to yew, I jest woke up from a turkey coma.

I am thankful for AnnieBee when she is sleepin and not annoyin me and barkin at the TV or her reflection in the oven door.

I am thankful for my brother Java, who grows cheese on his nose shelf and taught me to run from aluminum foil.

I am thankful for my foster sissy Hannah Banana, who reminded me of the importance of barkin at inanimate objects and kicking up the lawn after markin my terry-tory.

I am thankful for the tree maw brought into the house, too, although maw sez it is not for the purpose for which I have put it to use.

This here is Hannah

I'm the official foster puggy queen at the Medina Foster Home For Wayward Pugs, where I like to bark at leafs and trees and let everypuggy know I am the boss. I like to kick the grass after I bark the perimeter, and sometimes I burst outta the doggy door just to make sure no lurkers are out and about in my yard. Mama says I am the best guard puggy she has ever met, and I can tell Howie admires me. I taught Java Cheesy how to kick the grass too, so he has been working on that new skill, in addition to his current cheese production duties. I am 7 years old and look like a little froggy when I am sitting down. I love people, and when they come to visit I like to sit on their feets so they are sure to notice me. Mama says that I sound like a froggy when I bark, since I have a paralyzed larynx, but that just adds to my overall froggy charm. I was shy when I first came to Howie's house, but not anymore! Now I crawl right into the middle of the pile at bed time and go right to sleep. My snug buddy Howie makes a great pillow, but Annie will do in a pinch. This will be my first Christmas at Howie's house. He has been braggin' about all the food he gets, but so far all I see is his special panty-cree-att-itis menu getting served to him. I can't wait to see what Santa is going to bring me! What are you getting for Christmas? Enquiring puggy minds wants to know!

I told yew the other day I would share something really scary, but that I just could not bring myself to talk about it yet. *fans self with paw* When mommy and daddy took me shopping at my fav boutique, Dogologie, I bumped into the scariest pug I have ever seen. He kept staring at me like he wanted to take my squeaky donut or something.

Daddy thought it was funny, and kept pushing the pug toward me with his foot. I didn't like that one bit, as you can see from my distressed countenance. Howie told me later that this was undoubtedly one of them pod pugs from the Invasion of the Puggy Snatchers movie. He said that was a Pee Gee rated movie and that's why mom and dad had not let me watch it before. He said I should always check with him first so he can make sure I am aware of the scary creepy monsters in the world and be totally prepared. In exchange for this protection service, he wants two bites of my lunch tomorrow before I start in on hogging it down. What do you think? Should I share my lunch so I will have protection? I really like my lunch, so I am in a tizzy.

In case you've missed me, it's cuz I've been traveling seeing my peeps. Maw and Daddy took me to The Good Art Company Gallery last weekend so mom could hammer the walls and hang square things up and talk to people who were not offering me food. I always go with mommy to these places, everyone lines up to have their picture made with me because I am irresisty bull. (Howie rolls eyes).

I wonder if they have larger bags.

I was devastated that Art Studio Dog Bob was unavailable for our much anticipated tryst, but Daddy whisked me away to the Cookie Bar at my fav boutique, Dogologie to assuage my achey breaky heart. After emptying the bottom shelves of the cookie bar, I glued myself to my full shoppy bag, which Daddy held just out of my reach for the excruciatingly long 2 minute walk to my limousine.

On the way home, mommy fed me five iced cookies in my fav colors. I attended to a nice chewy tendon in between massacreing three new toy squeakers. With the exception of not getting to bump noses with Bob, this was just about the most satisfactory trip I have ever taken to Freddyburg, especially since it was just me, and I got to leave the boys at home out of the public eye, where they belong.

Except for one terrifying awful encounter I will have to tell you about later, because right now I don't even want to remember it. Just envision Freddy Kruger meets JasonPuggy in a dark alley, and maybe you will get an idea.

Anticipation is way, way over-rated.

Dad let me walk to the mailbox with him yes-turd-day to get the mail and it was a long walk. I got real thursty, so I gotta drink. It was a long walk (did I say that alreddy?), about fourteen hunnert steps from the front door down the driveway to the mailbox, cuz I had to stop along the way and check my Tree In Front Yard. I jest want to say fur the record that the aforementioned criminal act involving toilet paper was commenced because of circumstances beyond my control. Maw packed up Tiffy my foster sister and sent her home with Aunty Michele to live the life of luxury in Illinois on Sunday. Aunty Michele forgot to put me in the car before she and Unky Gerry drove away to a land where they grow lots of food and there are two refrigerators in the house. (I don't know that last part for sure, but I spect it is correct cuz Angel Stubs tole me so).

Now Tiffy's got her own blog, more clothes than my sister AnnieSmelly, and gets to go everywhere all the time no matter what, meeting her peeps and getting patted and adored. In the meantime, I am locked up in Medina Orphanage Where Howie Lives, out of the public eye, with my brother Java and the little fatty AnnieBelly whom I already mentioned but I don't want to talk about again. I am in a bad mood today, so I decided to cheer myself up with some indoor recreational activities. Since Maw has blocked off the leather ottoman in the living room, I found this other activity to fill up my schedule. I'm gonna pout the rest of the afternoon, so you might want to read Tiffy's new blog. After that, please package up some steaks and potatoes and send them to me pronto. Dear Big Guy in the Sky:

This here is Howie. Not so long ago, one of my hero-pugs, Stubby, came to visit and he shared all his tips with me on making the ladies adore him, how to avoid sharing at dinnertime, and how to get extra scratchies and love by making cute faces at the mama. Just a few days ago, my maw said that Stubby went to heaven to be with you and my sister Winnie Wiggles. Even though I am extra super busy barking at planes that invade my back yard airspace and my nap schedule is demandin', I wanted to get you this important Stubby Instructional List pronto. Please don't skip any of these items, as Stubs was a pretty good boy and probably the worst thing he ever did was have me the bad boy Howie as his friend.

Stubby gets to have his own Popeye's Franchise, with 24 hour buffet access and keys to the fried chicken warehouse out back.

Stubby gets to snuggle next to my sister Winnifred on the softest cloud, all the other boys will have to wait their turn. She is real good at face washin, so this will keep him extra clean.

Stubby gets unlimited access to the special message dream tube to send kisses and love downstairs every night to his mama Michele. He will be needing to use this an extra lot for a while right now.

Stubby gets his own little motor cart with a horn that is loud and obnoxious so he can toodle around the clouds and not be late to any of the important eating activities. I hear there is a lot of eating up there, and my boy Stubs liked his kibble!

Most of all, please give my pal Stubby some extra hugs for his maw, Michele. Stubby sure had a way with the ladies, they all adored him, so all of the ladies are really missing him now, most especially his mama. Thank you, Big Guy in the Sky, for letting me meet Mister Stubs. Someday I hope to be half the puggy he was.

As yew can see, I went to visit Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman last week. She wanted some pictures of my belly. She said everything looked good, and then she said I had gas, which I could have told maw if she had asked. Annie coulda told maw, too, since she experiences it first-hand courtesy of me.

This here is my belly. See my curly tail? Dr. Quinn laft when she saw my tail. I am not sure why it is comical, but as long as she carries me around and tells me I am cute, she can laff at my tail all day long.

This here is what I can't eat anymore, it's tragical I tell ya! Jest cause of my belly, Annie and Java and me don't get table scraps. Maw sez they are dangerous for doggies, "case in point Howie." Have yew ever heard so much hooey in your life? Good thing maw had the presence of mind to get me some healthy treats, or there cudda been a puggy riot in the house.

I din't get to go to PugOWeen this year. Anniebelly said that I needed to stay home out of the public eye, where I belong, but I think she's jest jealous cuz I get to do the post today. This here at top is my favorite picture from PugOWeen. I wudda worn this but mebbe named it FartBoat Howie. Maw said this PugOWeen had 960 peeps and 450 pugs plus some dogs who weren't pugs but wisht they were. This will go down in history as the biggest pug rescue event in Texas history, and so I'm sure you can understand why I am so upset I dint get to go. Imagine all the peoples bags and purses I cudda dug threw for treats all day long.

This here is Peanut the rescue puppy - he is blind but from what

his maw said, he still gets fed a lot and has fun

and plays all the time with his brother. He and his sister Butters

were left in a milk crate in a Dallas park in August and rescued by

them DFW Pug Rescue volunteer folks. Now they are both fat and

happy.

This here is a headless puggy type

the shivers, I tell yew. Maw said

this one won a big award!

This here was a big rug with legs

that wasn't a pug, but wisht it was. Her maw said

she was throwed outta the back of a pickup starvin

and had a broken femur when they rescued her. Now

she is all well and very furry and happy, as you can see.

This was maw's favorite float in the PugOWeen parade,

the little Pug on the Prairie. I wonder if they had real

food in that wagon, like some beans? *drools*

This here is my pal Wally the rescue pug,

She is living in the little house where Skippy Wu Angel Puggy used to reside, so she has a powerful little jiggley guardian angel watching over her. Just today I noticed this little accessory below made by Aunt Joan that I currently do not yet own. *looks pointedly at her mommy* This evening mommy will be measuring me so that the order for my new bell collar will be placed post haste with her creddy card. After all, we puggy girls have to line up our holiday attire months in advance of the pawties! I am thinking the gold would match my eyes, but the green is also nice.

I was having tummy bubbles again last week, so maw took me back to the doctor for another visit. I am feeling much better now, so I have no idea what all the fuss was about. She gets hysterical every time I leave a squirty pile in the yard, even though I told her I was leaving those strategically for when Annie chases her ball, like little poopy traps, so to speak. Annie stepped in one jest the other day and walked away from her ball in a big sulk. I wisht you cudda seen it. It was priceless.

Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman gave me some pills so maw has to give me an extra meal at bedtime now, so it all worked out to the best. Now if I could jest get offa this special diet and get my scrambley eggs and cheese again, I'd be a happy pug. You will be shocked and awed to learn that none of us are getting any of those delicious necessities any more, maw says no more table scraps fur the pugs on accounta my pancrea-yay-titis. I woke maw and paw up last night with tummy bubbles and had to go to the Emergency 9-1-1 Vet. Dr. Quinn Who Adores Me ran some tests and said I had an eppy-sode of pancreatitis so I hafta switch to a low fat food. I am sitting here writing to yew from my first class accommodations at the vet center getting me summa them IV fluids today.

I do love being here at the vet center, the ladies are all real cute and they are always telling me I am a good boy and how handsome I am. At home all I hear is "HOWIE DO NOT PEE ON THE LEATHER COUCH" and "HOWIE DO NOT TEACH YOUR FOSTER BROTHER HOW TO OPEN THE REFRIGERATOR" and other such nonsense.

The bad news is I gotta go one more day without eating while all that gurgling settles down inside me. Maw is coming to pick me up tonight so I will be hero doggy at home, and everyone will let me get away with anything. Mebbe I will tell maw to make Annie sleep in the garage.

It has been pouring cats and pugs since yes-turd-day and so my mission if I choose to accept it is to only pee indoors until this blows over. Maw had steam coming out of her ears this morning when she saw me showing my foster brother Tanner the correct way to pee on the leg of the leather couch.

My sister Anniebelly has been gathering up all her toys in the event she gets evacuated. I have put a big red cross on the roof with a sign that sez:

Annie said if the storm hits Dallas, she is planning to take only her most important toys, including pink piggy, the squeaky red ball, noisey frog, knobbley bear, and, of course, the hunk of yellow faux fur. And all I gots to say about it is it’s a buncha hooey that watching them two programs would result in me barkin and jumpin on daddy’s Flatscreen Preciously Loved TV. Just because last year I barked at all the big dogs at the Western Monster Show, and especially that one doggy who looked like a mop who I am sure wasn’t a doggy at all. And just because whenever a car races by on the TV and says rrrrrrrrrrrrrooooommmm zzzzoommm I like to chase it and bark my head off, is no reason to deny me these activities.

Most annoyin is when the big dog is on the screen barkin or jumpin around and then he walks off stage exit left and I have to run in the room behind the TV to see where da heck he went. Mommy has been wonderin lately why I’m getting so fat. Well HUL-LO!! These was the two only exercises I get all year! Additionally, I had made some discussions about winners with my good pal, Louie, on the Daytonapolis Five Hunnert and I didn’t get to see who won! Now I didn’t say we was bettin or anything, did I? Noooooo. Just discussions like, Hey Lou, who do you think will win and if they don’t win you can be my pal and send me summa those hot wings yer eatin that day. That sorta thing. Nodoggy was wired. Nodoggy was breakin international laws of transit, just cuz Lou lives in Caneeda and mails me stuff that should probably have been inspected and discarded years ago that I will enjoy eatin anyway. We didn’t say ANY of this stuff on deesposable cell phones. All the time I gets accused of stuff I didn’t do yet, but was only thinking about doing. It’s a crime to be treated like this.

And don’t even get me started on Anniebelly Bossypants, my lil sister. It’s all, lately, just a buncha hooey!!!

Maw said I can write the blog today since I made the most noise at breakfast this morning. My good pal Stubby brought his folks over for a visit yesterday. He brought a bag full of food, per my instructions. Stubby has been traveling all over the country surprising folks with visits. I tried to climb into the car with Aunty Michele and Stubby as a surprise but maw said no. Have you ever heard such hooey in your life? She didn't even listen when I splained that Stubs gets to visit sixty dozen different refrigerators before he goes home.

I knew something was up this morning when Stubby brushed his teeth before he left. I saw on twitter he is having lunch with my girlfriend Pearley Poo in Oklahoma today. S'okay though, I am generous that way, and besides, he promised to mail me their leftovers so I got no problem with my good buddy StubsMan.

Goodbye Mr. Sunshine - Oscar Goes to the Bridge Today

I was 11 years old when I arrived at

the Medina Foster Home for Wayward Pugs

Today my heart is breaking, as my beloved foster pug, Oscar, will be going to the Rainbow Bridge. His furever mom and dad, Jennifer and Dave, have adored and loved this special boy since they adopted him from DFW Pug Rescue four years ago.

Oscar came to rescue at the age of 11, and had the face of a teddy bear. He was an old soul but adored when I gave him kisses. Any time his family traveled, Oscar stayed with us, because he loved being at the Medina Foster Home for Wayward Pugs.

A few days ago he developed a cough, and his trachea is near collapsing. He has fluid on his lungs. He is no longer interested in food, which for Oscar, was his life passion. Jennifer said he is not himself at all and though he looks for her, he seems to be gone already. We had hoped he would see the age of 15 years, but it was not meant to be.

I pray the angels will take him gently and he will know how much he has been adored and loved in the short time we have known this amazing little fellow. I am so thankful he was in my life, and he went to such a loving home.

I've shared his story below. Please hug your babies today and tell them they are loved.

Puppy Dog Bed in Intensive Care

Puppy Dog Bed is having surgery today. *wipes tear* Howie ate one of his eyeballs off and then started ripping out the stuffin through the hole. *shudders with horror* Mommy said that she had to do emergency surgery right away or else Howie would get constipated. So Puppy Dog Bed is in the surgical center and I'm stuck out here with nothin' but 3 year old copies of Sports Illustrated to read.

The surgeon shooshed me out of the room during certain parts, she said they were too graphical for my little self to see. She said only old puggies who have been around the block could sit through something this awful without fainting. Howie sat through it and said he farted the whole time. I'm concerned the air was contaminated and fart particles during the surgery. *Annie makes note to puggy self to wash puppy bed in extra bleach*

GREAT NEWS!!! Surgeon said Puppy Dog Bed is going to be OKAY!!!! I was so happy to see Puppy Dog Bed when he came out of surgery. I grabbed him by the face and yanked him outta the surgeons' grip. Surgeon said to treat him with tender care and handle very gentley for the next 3 hours.

Ma said that since I managed to get into almost every picture on Saturday, I get to do the bloggy post today. As you can see, I was Mister Super Helpful when little Puddin Pop came over to get her photos made by the professional that day. This was my back yard, you see, so I felt it was important to be sure it was all done correctly.

Mister Camera Guy had to shoot Puddin's closeup six times before he got it right, because I kept jumping in front of the lens to try to explain to him about how he needed to adjust his lighting and to make sure nopuggy was getting snacks that I wasn't privvy to. Mom finally grabbed me and held me out of the way, which I found very disturbing, being as Mister Camera Guy clearly needed help. After all, why else would he bring his assistant, Brianna, to stand on his shoulders and snort directions?

I kind of got crushy on little Puddin, look how cute she is! Mom said she was a perfect lady and Howie said I should get her phone number and ask her out, seeing as she has her own wheels and I don't know how to drive. Puddin was dropped off at a shelter and could not walk when she came to Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue. After some hydrotherapy and a new wheelcart, she is getting around pretty as you please.

Mom said if I ever need some fancy wheels, she knows exactly how she'll train me. She'll hang a big ole hunk of cheese in front of my nose. I suggested we start practicin' right now.

I gotta take a bath and brush my teeth cuz I've got a date on Sunday. Don't get jealous Pearley Pants, k? Puddin Pop has got her own wheels so she'll be cruisin over to meet me, the handsome PeeMan. She's bringing along a cameraman who is gonna get film of her tooling around my yard and being adored. Puddin is one of the cuties from Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue, that web site I like to look at every day. Maw insists this Web site is not my own personal dating service, but I just can't help but admire the cuteys there, over 120 foster pugs right now! So there are bound to be some lovely ladies in the bunch.

Puddin Pop came to rescue at age 7, and could not walk very well, so a bunch of nice peeps who love pugs donated money to pug rescue to buy her these cool new wheels.

I was perusin' lovely bloggies today and happen to read an important story about Aunt Josie's new sock monkey bed from Walgreens. Lo and behold I realized I don't got no sock monkey bed! *Annie stomps paw and steam comes outta her ears*

As soon as I informed my secretary she grabbed her car keys and went to Walgreen to correct this terrible oversight. Did she come home with the proper sock monkey I had ordered? Nope. But she did find this fluffy puppy dog bed and said I should give it a try. I carried it up and down the hall and then I chewed on its eyeballs and then I shook it till the seams rattled, kinda like I do Howie when he is particular annoyin.

I do love my puppy dog bed, it's nice and it's....it's.....zzzzz....zzzzzzzzzz

I got a new foster brother this week named Tanner. Maw sez he is real well behaved, but I'm taking care of that problem as quickly as I can. I already taught him how to get rowdy and bark at mealtime, pee on the deck instead of in the yard, and how to steal Annie's toys just cuz it annoys her.

I've got a list of about twenty thousand other important Howie Tricks of the Trade to work on with him, so I hope he sticks around fur a while. Tanner used to have his own harem in a place called Oklahoma where they made baby pugs like marshmallows on an assembly line. He got his first bite of cheese ever in his whole life yesterday, and his eyes got all buggy. I told him if he tells me how he broke outta that jail up there, I'd tell him which drawer the cheese is stored in. Here's his story:

You have undoubtedly heard of me. I escaped from Abu Growl prison in Marlow, Oklahoma, last week with the assistance of my contacts in the DFW Pug Rescue organization. My covert deep underground sources had tapped out a puggy SOS and lo and behold, the famous rescue peeps came with their capes and tights and PugOWeen T shirts and got us all out of a bad situation.

I was the stud puggy in Marlow with my own harem, but foster mom says I am currently the only pug in her household who does not pee indoors or misbehave. I do enjoy scratches and pats and lovey dovey looks from ladies, but I'm just a little afraid of men. My foster dad and I get along just fine, though, especially after he offered me a bowl of stew with meaty muffin sauce. I am about 7 years old and will be wanting to relocate my headquarters soon.

Today is the second anniversary of the death of the little heartbeat at my feet, Winnifred Wigglepants. She was my velcro pug and my love, and I miss her every moment of every day.

This is her diary entry on dogster the day she passed:

Winnie died this morning very early while she was in the care of the tech at the ICU. I think she was very tired. She was my brave girl and was such a big part of our lives. Please say a prayer that she is comforted now.

She loves breakfast-time so much. I hope that she is enjoying scrambley egg and a bowl of delicious kibble this morning and making the angels laugh with her roo roo roo morning song and breakfast time spinning.

Who will wash Howie's face now? Who will sit on my feet when I am on the 'puter? Who will keep dad company in the kitchen when he is cooking? Our little one with such a big heart is gone, and it all happened so quickly and unexpectedly.

We were so blessed to have her with us for just 2 short years. What an extraordinary little dog she was.

I told her last night it was okay to go - she was sitting up in her oxygen cage at the ICU for 2 days, waiting for me. She always sat and waited for me. The moment she laid down was when she passed.

Please hug your babies for me today and say a prayer for angel Winnie. She was cherished.

The most exciting prezzies arrived at the Medina Foster Home for Wayward Pugs! Bran new sweater vests from Aunty Melissa and Cousin Emmy of PugNotes just in time to ring in the New Year! Howie enjoyed a special bonus moment of tearing up the tissue wrapping. Melissa of Pugnotes creates amazing designs and critter art and we have loved and adored her and her Activity Director and Number One Studio Assistant Emmy-Pants fur just about furever.

What a wonderful gift, we could not believe our eyes! Annie was feeling especially cute in her red outfit and immediately began shopping for matching shoes. Howie quickly discovered that wearing a fabulous blue sweater attracted treats from admiring hoomans and Java gave his beautiful orange sweater three toes up and circle snaps shortly before falling into a post-brekkies coma on his favorite pillow snuggled in the warm, soft outfit from his Aunty.

Ony the Pug - One Step at a time

From Melissa, Ony's Foster Mom:

"Ony grows stronger every day and makes me realize that

hope is always there and to never give up.

I'm not giving up on him no matter what

because he has not given up on me."

Ony the Pug is 7 years old and has a hard time walking and standing up. Ony's family said they were moving and could not take him with them. He came to Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue about a week ago and was taken to our neurologist's office for a myelogram and a CT scan Wednesday. This will tell us if surgery will help him.

Dr. Ducote and her staff were encouraged with the progress Ony has made under his foster mom Melissa's care. He is now standing and walking - or trying to walk. Previously, he was incontinent and now is letting Melissa know when he needs to go out. She carries him out to the grass and he will relieve himself and walk over to the edge of her patio to be let back in. Melissa says he can maneuver on grass better than floors or concrete.

Ony is another little soul who gives those around him courage. We are going to do everything we can to help him get back his quality of life and find a loving home. We are so thankful to Melissa for the love she is giving him in his foster home.

I don't get to write often because I live with Annie and Howie and well, need I say more?? Yesterday I went to see Dr. Carter and got my teeth cleaned. This picture was taken by one of my adoring lady friends at the vet. Notice my minty clean breath? *breathes into your face with his minty clean breath*

Now I can blow kisses to all my honeys without fear of embarrassing bad breath. While I was asleep, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman tickled my ears and found some cheese growing germs in there. They gave me a shot in my bee-hind and some pills. Imagine my worry to learn that my essential cheesiness could be taken away just like that? But Mom said that she is confident that after all this medicine is gone, my cheese will return again, just like the sunshine.

*eyes droop* Well footheater friend is calling and my tum is full of Cowboy Cookout stew. We'll talk more after naptime, I promise.

A day without Oscar is

like a day without sunshine!

We have the addition of a fourth little soul visiting this week - Oscar the Pug. Oscar first came to stay at the Medina Foster Home for Wayward Pugs three years ago after his family could no longer care for him. He was 11 years old when he first stepped paw inside my door.

As you can see, Oscar went on to great fame and fortune after his adoption by his furever family. Last year, he was selected as Mister January for the Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue Calendar. He is, undeniably, a hunky, good looking fellow, and his new family has him absolutely spoiled, as it should be.

If I had three wishes, one of them would be that every little creature, every cat and every dog, would have a safe home and loving family to care for them. Please remember animal rescue when you make out your gift lists at the end of this year. Every rescue organization is in greater need now than we have ever been before. And while you're at it, give your critters big hugs for me!

I am still in charge of the blog even though I let Maw upload that mooshy picture of Java on his birthday. I decided to let that slide since we all got extra treats that day and all. I am real worried about her crooked head and I seg-jested to mama that we send her off to some special hospital in the Alps real soon so they could examine her and keep her for a few months of close bob-servation.

Maw made me wear this costume last year and I admit am am hansum but the hat kept fallin into my eyes and blockin my view of the food bowl so I ate it.
