This large painting was a commission for a Flower Mound family. Their mother had recently moved into a nursing facility and especially missed her begonias, which grew in front of her entryway under her porch. I really enjoyed creating a tie to the past for a beloved Mom.
My Mom's birthday is coming up in just a few days. I asked Mom what she wanted for her birthday and she said Ham. I'm not going to let her get off that easy... I think I'll bring all three pugs over when we visit her on Saturday. What a rare and wonderful gift that will be. : )

What a beautiful way to honor and appreciate their mom : )
Ham ... Pugs ... it's all the same. Happy Birthday to your mom Nancy!
BTW, I love the color of your new background.

Oh, Sharon, you took my line about the pugs being just like ham! Love this painting, Nancy. It jumps off the page. Happy Birthday to your Mom!
thank you ladies, Laura, your calving video is awesome. When I first saw it I thought calf, farm, etc... ; ) Sharon, you are so right. Pugs are hams in more ways than one.

Howie,
This is Dozer's Auntie Laura - I have a lot of sympathy for you my garbage loving friend! I might even be able to find some garbage at my house that has been properly aged and could send to your tree in the front yard. My Chi's haven't developed a taste for garbage - aged or fresh - but they do enjoy a nice blade of grass or maybe a poopie now and then. Maybe we could do an exchange?
Auntie Laura
Hey wait a minute! She's my Auntie Laura and she is not going to Texus to feed you! Auntie Laura! Auntie Laura! You're mine!
Dozer
