Baby Howard

Baby Howard With Dad

I was going to write about the busy, busy, busy day the puggies are having, as they all lay snoring in breakfast food comas around my feet, but ran across this cute picture of Baby Howard.

My baby boy is getting gray now, but he still looks like a puppy to me. He's been a lot happier since Annie came to live with us, though he would never admit it OUT LOUD or anything. His heart has healed from the loss of Winnie, who mothered him and washed his face and protected him from scary brothers.

Eating Turkey at Grammys House

This year all of us puggies got
invited to Grammy's house
fur that howliday that's all about
what we do best: EATIN.

Mommy said she grew up on this farm and
helped her maw and paw grow crops
and they had cows and everything.
I don't know nothin about cows except
I hear they are delishush.

I was real polite and helpful during the meal.
I poked people's arms every few minutes so
they knew I was available fur taste testin stuff.

Annie helped with the dishes.

When we got home, we were all egg-zhausted.

Annie's kitchen training payin off big time.

Daddy Adores Me

Annie gettin smoochies
from the Daddy

Anniebelly sez:
My daddy adores me, what can I say? Thanks to our clever puggley friend Eduardo for a great idea - posting a picture of the parental units. Mommy is always behind the camera so here is a picture of my daddy, whom I have wrapped around the littlest piggy toe on my cute little paw. He adores me, and who can blame him?

Elvis, the Birthday Boy

Elvis the Pug lives in San Diego with his sister Dandy and his mom, Mindy. His favorite thing besides snuggling his puggy sister and getting hugs from mom is the double double cheeseburger from In and Out Burger. I got to spend the day with Mister Elvis, his fatty sister Dandy, and his mom Mindy a few months ago. Once you've seen his smile, you won't be a bit surprised to see why Elvis draws a crowd everywhere he goes in his deluxe puggy stroller. Here's to you big boy!

The Story of Bambi, the "Pug With A Boston Accent"

Bambi, Adopted and Loved by Pug Rescuers
In the Arms of the Angels
November 2008

Bambi: Update November 19, 2008
From Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescuers in Houston

Bambi crossed Rainbow Bridge this morning peacefully in a special garden surrounded by flowers and love. Her cause of death was congestive heart failure due to her previous owners not administering heartworm prevention.

Bambi left us this morning after dealing with a bad heart that was so damaged by heartworm disease there was no predicting how long she would be with DFW Pug Rescue. She became one of our hospice cases and lived in a home with Pugs. She was sent to us via "Theresa and Charly" who thought she was a Pug and we headed out to pick her up. We thank both of them. Upon arrival to pick up this Pug, out came an elderly Boston Terrier, skinny, shaky but immediately kissed me on the face. We would never leave her behind. We put her on the website as our "Pug with a Boston accent."

Her prognosis was grim but DFW Pug Rescue never turns its head away. She lived over a year. It was such a privilege to be able to care for this little girl and actually watch her bounce back for a period of time. We knew her time was short. Bambi is now at peace with her Maker and playing with all of those who have crossed Rainbow Bridge before her. Her bed is empty tonight and there was one less bowl to fill and it hurts but in time it will lessen. God just made room for another one to come our way. We wait patiently.

Not My Best Side

Annie
Fish-Eye Lens

From the Anniebelly Chronicles:
As you can plainly see, this is not the picture of me I would have posted on the blog today. Mommy's been playing with a new gadget for her IPhone and it takes pictures that make noses look really big. It also makes buggy eyes buggier and makes little googley eyes farther apart. Why on earth she thinks this is a good idea is beyond me. I just hope Bajas doesn't see this. And if Howie sees it, I am never gonna live it down. Can anypuggy please tell me where the DELETE MOMMY'S BLOG POST button is???

Best of Pugoween 2008

Liberace with Sparkley Piano

The King and Priscilla Puggy

Couch Pug-tatoes With Supporting Cast

Morticia Puggy and Haunted House

Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue
had a pawsome turnout on October 26, with over 200 puggies in costume. Each year people travel from hundreds of miles away and from all across the US to try to win one of the sparkley trophies at Pugoween.

I was in Chicago for business and MISSED THE SHOW!!! Fortunately, the pug dad attended and took pictures of the event. Here are some of the best photos from Pugoween 2008, the most important fund raiser for our rescue group here in Dallas. And here is a BIG shout out for pug rescuers all across the country who hosted pugoweens to raise funds for these precious babies. It is our hope and prayer that every homeless pug finds a loving furever home.

Texas Colorscapes

16X20
Oil on Canvas

One of the prettiest places to visit in historic Fredericksburg, Texas, is a drive called The Loop just outside of town. The trees and hills are beautiful backdrops for the cactus and wildflowers, and if you wait about five minutes you usually will see deer, too. This painting, Fredericksburg Glow, was finished this week from my studio on Saturday, with help from my three furry assistants.
