Six Things That Make Howie Happy

Punchy sent me a note that I gotta report
six things that make me happy. I'm thinkin
real hard about it, and I think I got it now.

My friend the kibble container, he
makes me very happy. I like to spend
time with him in his pantry house from
time to time just to say hello.

Meaty muffins. yummmmmmmm. What's
not to like about meaty muffins? They got meat!
mmmm. They got muffin! mmmmmmm

Birthday cookies are also something that
make me real happy. Even if it's not my
birthday, if you were to say, send me a cookie,
I'd be real happy. Just speaking rhetorically that is.

Barkin at them dang birds. I do enjoy
doing that quite a bit.

Chewin on stuff I'm not sposed to be
chewin on always makes me happy.

Yummy chewy bones also happen to
make me very happy.

Here's my happy face. Mom says I had
just had a bath in this picture, but I don't
believe her fur a second. Why on earth
would I be happy about that???

Oh Howie - you are a cutie!!! Do you think that your mom might share the meat muffins recipe? If you can talk her into it...I'll send you a treat!

Oh Howie, we share similar interests! I love all those things!

This mornin', Momma was sitting on the floor blow-dryin' her hair (I don't know why she can't stand up to do this. Lazy?) Anyway, I snuck up behind her and ran off with the hair brush! She noticed it was gone and eventually found it between the couch cushions, covered in slobber! HEHEHE!

Hi Aunty Nea - this here is Howie and here is mom's recipe. She said to tell you to be sure to give LITTLE pieces of muffin at a time, cuz my brother Java almost choked trying to swallow too big a piece once!

TURKEY AND OATMEAL MUFFINS - from Joanne (these were Asia's favorite treats)
*see "Rave Reviews" below recipe

Preheat over to 350 degrees

Mix in a bowl
2 cups whole wheat flour, sifted
1 cup Instant Oatmeal (comes in packages)

Mix in another bowl
1 cup grated carrots (on small grate)
2 eggs
1 1/4 pounds of fresh ground raw turkey
1 TBSP Olive Oil

Keep adding dry ingredients slowly to wet mixture and mix until all the dry
ingredients are mixed in well.

For a small dog, fill mini muffin pans 1/2 way and pat down. For a big dog,
fill mini muffin pans to the top and pat down. Bake in the center of the
oven for 18 minutes.

This recipe will make dozens of muffins. Because there are no preservatives
in them it is a good idea to put them in the freezer and only keep enough in
the fridge to last 3 days. These are good treats to give especially at
bedtime. Because of the protein in the turkey it will keep their blood sugar
up if you give them 3 or 4 muffins at bedtime.
NOTE:
Some dogs may have an allergic reaction to eating turkey, which could cause seizures. If you are concerned about using ground turkey, then you may substitute the same amount of ground chicken or ground meat in the recipe.
You can find these recipes and more information on supplements at
http://www.canine-epilepsy-guardian-angels.com/healthy/diet.htm under the "nutrition" tab at the bottom left.

Thank you so much for sending the recipe. Can't wait to get back home and try them out. George is my Pug, and Gracie is my Carolina Dog.

I'm a goof ball...Percy, Doofus, Dorcus, and Cudzu, are my plastic and
and plaster, traveling buddies. I stole the idea right off the pages of
Itsapugslife.blogspot.com. Marni travels with Punkin. One-eyed Jack, has just joined her household.

I's great to be old and nutty!
(I'm not saying that Marni is old - just me.)

Hello again...I'm sending out an SOS to all pug lovers and to my bloggy friends. My sweet little plastic pug boy has been dognapped. I'm asking for everyones help. If you have a moment, would you please ask your readers to come over to my place - so that they can see the ransome note, and then go to the dognappers site, and leave a comment pleading for his safe and timely return. (I also hoping that they will send back some NY bagels and cheesecake, with my dear little Percy-to ease my troubled heart.)
