Passion Flower

My mother's yard is filled with some amazing plants. This is one of my favorites - the passion flower. This one is the Passiflora "Incense." It grows like a weed and is very heat tolerant. I've seen these in South Texas at Dena Wenmoh's Art Ranch Retreat near Marble Falls, but had no idea they could grow this far north until I visited Mom out at the farm last weekend. Her yard was filled with them! My Aunt Bitsy is going to bring me a cutting from Mom's house. I made her promise not to tell Carlos that this is going to take over our entire backyard. I can hardly wait.

That's what a passion flower looks like? I had no idea! Does it smell? Does it come in different colors, like pink?

Very interesting Nancy! I love the little squigles on it : )

Isn't it wonderful? I posted some more pictures for you guys. I thought maybe these would be in other regions esp New England! Sharon, it has a wonderful perfume. It's not too strong, really light, and I bet your hummingbirds would love it.

Love the new pictures Nancy! The flowers are very similar to Clematis, of which I have blooming at the moment. Your must have hummingbirds too.

I'm going to look these flowers UP!

I want them in my yard - how gorgeous! I'm curious if they smell too, and do they attract bees? So pretty! I see a picture being painted of these - LOL!
