Thistle Paintings

Artscape at the Dallas Arboretum was a big success and a really fun day. What a beautiful setting for an art show. The pumpkin patch was right next to our art tents so we got to see the families taking pictures of their little ones all day. Four thousand runners had a race around White Rock Lake the morning the show started, and later in the day the Arboretum had about 6000 more visitors. I did get to sneak away for a few minutes Sunday morning to take some photos, and these fall thistles are based on some of the amazing flowers on the grounds at the Arboretum. Artscape is moving to March in 2009, so I'm hoping to get selected again to attend. Maybe I'll see you there!

Are you kidding? Of course you'll be selected again! Artscape 2009, here she comes!

You were right next to the Pumpkin Patch? Well that must have been a little hectic. Carlos didn't run the race, did he?

Thanks so much for the nice words - I love thistles, even though most people think they are weeds! Sharon, Carlos did not run the race - I was making him be my art booth setup slave that morning. ; )

Hi! There are no starbucks on the trail. No bathrooms either, only on the campsites. You can buy water and gatorade but only in designed places (the trail goes through a natural reservation) but we past the last one the morning of the second day. oh and prices of the beverages increase as you are getting closer to the last available vendor.
You have to carry all your water with you!
