Texas Twisters Visit Howie's House

Howie and Annie Prepare Fur the Storm!

Last night we had twisters and thunderboomers in North Texas, with Flower Mound right in the center of the activity. At 6:15 pm, the tornado sirens started wailing. At 6:30 pm, the trees outside started whipping around and the wind started blowing UP from the ground. The doggy door flap flew open and stayed that way, a first! I grabbed blankets, pillows and the box of dog snacks and called the puggies to follow me into the bathroom. Annie had one of her new toys and thought this was going to be a great game of Keep Away from Mama. I finally had to grab her (and the beloved toy) and carry them into the bathroom with her brothers.

We were right under that red blob to the left of Dallas. Two tornados touched down in Flower Mound. This morning there were trees snapped in half throughout our neighborhood and roof shingles everywhere. It was a wild ride, but we survived! We're really lucky because the next door neighbors have two giant trees by our house and they had them both trimmed last week. Otherwise we may have had a lot more damage!

Thanks to everyone who sent warm wishes to Anniebelly for her surgery Tuesday. She is doing great and is especially enjoying her two new toys and her new bed.

Stay safe and dry out there! Over and out from Still Stormy Texas! xxxooo

Oh I am so glad you, your family and your home is alright! I am scared to death now that I moved closer to the ocean, because of the hurricanes... and now that I have Coco, going to a shelter is not an option! there is only one pet friendly shelter, where i have tried to register to twice but i never get an answer. anyway, those things are very scary. kisses to Annie, I am glad she is doing fine

I was watching the news last night and thinking about you guys! Never a dull moment here in tornado alley, huh? SO glad to hear that you are all ok! Tornado season really can get scary.

Did I know that Annie was having surgery? I am only 25 and my memory already fails me?! What did she have done? Is she ok? I am so upset that I didn't remember. :(

Phew, thanks for the update AnnieBelly! I was so worried that I had forgotten something so important.

If your Momma is like mine, she nearly has a coronary any time I have to go under. So glad it's over! You'll be kickin' Howie's booty again soon!

I'm glad you are safe and sound. Hurricanes are pretty scary but I can't imagine a tornado. Didn't know about Annie's surgery but happy to hear she is on the mend. We sure do love you guys!

Hi everyone
Thank goodness you are all okay. We heard about it- yes we did.In fact one of mamas friends works right there at Quest Diagnostics near your studio and they said it was mighty close and your power was off- for 16 hrs? Good you were able to round up the pugs and toys! How scary for everyone.
We had little ones in Oregon last week. Is Annie feeling better? We still are keeping our paws crossed for her,
love
