Fatties in Fetties - GQ Pug Edition
The most exciting prezzies arrived at the Medina Foster Home for Wayward Pugs! Bran new sweater vests from Aunty Melissa and Cousin Emmy of PugNotes just in time to ring in the New Year! Howie enjoyed a special bonus moment of tearing up the tissue wrapping. Melissa of Pugnotes creates amazing designs and critter art and we have loved and adored her and her Activity Director and Number One Studio Assistant Emmy-Pants fur just about furever.
What a wonderful gift, we could not believe our eyes! Annie was feeling especially cute in her red outfit and immediately began shopping for matching shoes. Howie quickly discovered that wearing a fabulous blue sweater attracted treats from admiring hoomans and Java gave his beautiful orange sweater three toes up and circle snaps shortly before falling into a post-brekkies coma on his favorite pillow snuggled in the warm, soft outfit from his Aunty.
Thank you so much Melissa for these beautiful sweater vests! The fatties never looked so good!

Annie's Early Christmas Prezzy
This here is Anniebelly!
*blows kisses* Do you notice anything different about me?? Besides the fact I am wearing my adorable Christmas coat I mean. *bats eyelashes* Look closely, do you see anything PINK with HEARTS on it??? Something that might make a little puggy girl's heart go pitty pat if she were to receive it in the MAIL from her hunky hunky puggy boyfriend Bajas???
Well if THAT doesn't make your heart go pitty pat, here is something that will. Have you ever seen such a dreamboat Santy? This here is my boyfriend Bajas from way across the world. He sent me this sweet new prezzy collar and a card expressing his love and affection for me. And who can blame him? I am, after all, puggy-cuteness in every way! *Howie makes gagging motion with his paw*
Thank you Bajas Hunny Bunny for my howliday gift, I love you sweetie! I will airmail you a little kissy as a reward. xoxoxo

Thinking About an Angel at Christmas
The Jiggliest Angel
This week 2 years ago was the last good week little Winnie Wiggles had during her three month fight with GME encephalitis. Winnie was my heart, my velcro girl, and my best friend. My fondest hope is that I will see her again someday.
Heavenly Missive
Whippy creme and scrambled eggs are
Way up here in Heaven
In case you too
See only blue and
wonder what you're gettin
They're other things like angel wings
With fur that's never sheddin'.
There's no disease or achin knees
and wrinkles smooth and silken
I fall asleep and dream of you
and times when we were given
to sprint and run and tug on toys
and dash to mom for lovin.
Tonight no tears oh Howie dear
because I have been taken
I’ll kiss your cheek and whiskers sweet
And heal the ache within you.
The pain it fades and goes away
And even loss feels lighter
When time moves on then pushes back
All that separates us.

Ony the Pug - One Step at a time
From Melissa, Ony's Foster Mom:
"Ony grows stronger every day and makes me realize that
hope is always there and to never give up.
I'm not giving up on him no matter what
because he has not given up on me."
Ony the Pug is 7 years old and has a hard time walking and standing up. Ony's family said they were moving and could not take him with them. He came to Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue about a week ago and was taken to our neurologist's office for a myelogram and a CT scan Wednesday. This will tell us if surgery will help him.
Dr. Ducote and her staff were encouraged with the progress Ony has made under his foster mom Melissa's care. He is now standing and walking - or trying to walk. Previously, he was incontinent and now is letting Melissa know when he needs to go out. She carries him out to the grass and he will relieve himself and walk over to the edge of her patio to be let back in. Melissa says he can maneuver on grass better than floors or concrete.
Ony is another little soul who gives those around him courage. We are going to do everything we can to help him get back his quality of life and find a loving home. We are so thankful to Melissa for the love she is giving him in his foster home.

A Handsome Cheesy Pug
Java Cheesy
Main Street Vet Clinic
Flower Mound, Texas
This here is Java Cheesy
I don't get to write often because I live with Annie and Howie and well, need I say more?? Yesterday I went to see Dr. Carter and got my teeth cleaned. This picture was taken by one of my adoring lady friends at the vet. Notice my minty clean breath? *breathes into your face with his minty clean breath*
Now I can blow kisses to all my honeys without fear of embarrassing bad breath. While I was asleep, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman tickled my ears and found some cheese growing germs in there. They gave me a shot in my bee-hind and some pills. Imagine my worry to learn that my essential cheesiness could be taken away just like that? But Mom said that she is confident that after all this medicine is gone, my cheese will return again, just like the sunshine.
*eyes droop* Well footheater friend is calling and my tum is full of Cowboy Cookout stew. We'll talk more after naptime, I promise.
