Howie Works Hard Fur the Puggle!

This is my entry fur the Workin With
the Snuggle Puggle Challenge. Check out the button over there
to Eduardo's page and you can get the four one one.

Please, don't try this at home. This is Perch-Nappin
and it's much more difficult than it looks. Just THINKIN
about this whole Eduardo Puggley Work Challenge
thing is wearin me out. I wonder what the prize will be....

Hmmm, mebbe it will be a big bag of juicy
crunchy bones with peanut butter fillin'.

...or mebbe it will be a bowl of goopy delicious
kibble with chunks of mystery chicken parts on top.

All work related activities in this post were done by
me, a professional perch-napper. You only THINK it looks
easy. This is actually multi-taskin' cuz I'm FARTIN too.

Pug Family Photos - Making a Collage in Photoshop Elements

Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue
Family Photos

Check out this cool montage - I made it tonight using Photoshop Elements. It was a little tricky to get the photos the right size, rotated correctly, and to get them to fill up the blank spaces. I wasn't able to figure out how to add additional photos "ad libitum" to a template, but I bet there is a way.

What a fun project.
This photo montage will appear on the Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue Blog in just a few days, but I'm posting it here first to give you a sneak preview!

Elvis and Dandy in Holiday Gear

Dandy-Pants and Elvis the Pug
Celebrate the Holiday Season

It may be perpetually sunny there, but puggies in California celebrate the holiday season, too! We got to visit with Dandy and Elvis earlier this year in Southern California. Dandy is the little fattygirl to the left and you may recognize her famous brother, Elvis. He is the famous pug from No Pug Left Behind Logo for Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue. If Elvis got his holiday wish, he had an In and Out Burger with extra cheese.

We adore these babies, and one of the funnest days I've ever spent was in San Diego pushing Elvis around in his carriage on the beach and taking this little fattygirl out to greet her peeps with their Mama Mindy. Dandy has blossomed into a real socialite since she moved out to California from Texas.

Happy holidays and happy Hanukkah to Mindy and her puggy babies!

Santa Gets Even With Howie

Howie's prezzie from Aunty Kelly and Uncle Rocky
(shhh....he thinks this was a gift from Pugmass Claus)

From HowiePants:
Ever since I asked Sandy Claws fur fat little french fried elves with ranchy dippin' sauce, he has obviously held a grudge. Yew would really think the fat guy would not be holdin grudges and such, bein as Christmas Karma can git yew and all. Well it sure got me this year. Holy cow, the hat even lights up and plays Jingle Bells.

Anypuggy out there with thumbies, I could use a little help right now. Dozer, CooperMan, rollin on the ground laffin is NOT the kinda help I'm needin. I need somepuggy to dial 9 One One!!! Cuz this outfit is a CRIME!!!

Howie Opens Holiday Prezzies

This here is my Mama huggin and smoochin on her
first foster pug, Mister Pug. Don't let the name fool ya,
he could pee on a formal dining room chair leg with the best of 'em.

Today the mama said we got a prezzie in the mail from Mister Pug.
Now, I didn't just fall off the turnip truck yesterday, I know he can't
go to the post office cuz of federal regulations about peein on mail
and important stuff like that, so I 'spect this wuz from his Mama, Auntie Julie.

Right away I seg-gested that mama consider the fact that Annie is
20% fur, 80% fat, and should get none of this delishush stuff Mister
Pug sent TO ME. Sharing is for the birds *makes rude spitting noise*.

C'mon Dad, how difficult can it be?
Three gi-normous cookies, three hungry puggies?

Then there was the whole SIT STAY stuff to go through.
I don't think Mister Pug wudda wanted us to work for these
yummies, he's jest like me and believes in instant gratty-fication.

As yew can see, we finished off the whole box. Mama hollered something
at Dad that sounded like HOLY COW YOU GAVE THEM THE WHOLE BOX
but I'm not sure, it cudda been something different since English is not my
first language. Just one more reason we enjoys havin' Daddy around.

Howie's Holiday Movie Classics - A Very Puggy Christmas

In this timeless holiday classic, A Very Puggy Christmas, Howie, Winnie and Java get to taste the season's first snowflakes.

Puggy Credits

Costume design by the Mama.

Snowflakes courtesy of the big guy upstairs.

Stuntpuggy taster doubles were not necessary for this movie,

as Howie insisted on doing all taste testing himself.

Cameo appearance by Java Cheesy.

Pres. Bush Selects Cheese Security Team Leader Java the Pug

President Bush warmly embraces his new
cheese security advisor Java Cheesybritches.
He will undoubtedly have to wash his shirt
later lest he smell like ripe cornchips and cheese.

From the Java Cheese Blog:
By now you all have probably heard that President Bush is moving right here to Dallas. Well, it was no surprise to me, Java Cheese, that our new neighbor has asked me to come by from time to time to keep a googley eye on the cheese situation in Preston Hollow. After all, everypuggy knows I am a connoisseur of growing all forms of cheese, even five minutes after a good scrubbing in the bathtub.

I call him Bushy
I told Bushy (he likes me to call him Bushy cuz we are pals like that and he calls me Cheesy) that of course I would consider the position, but first I would have to consult with Annie Bossybritches, since she is the ruler of all she surveys around here. And I also told Bushy I had to make sure that these important Presidential Cheese Tasks do not interfere with my nap schedule, which takes precedence over everything except for eating.

Senate Hearing will be a piece of cake
I am quite confident I can pass the Senate Panel Hearing on Monday since the only skeletons in my closet involve the badness of my brother Howard, of which you all are very familiar. And those should jest be minor problems, since they haven't actually arrested him fur anything yet, cuz anytime he wants to evade the mama or daddy he just runs under the kitchen chair and POOF he is invisible.

I do pledge and promise to stay in touch with all of yew if I do take this important position in the administration de fromage.

Baby Howard

Baby Howard With Dad

I was going to write about the busy, busy, busy day the puggies are having, as they all lay snoring in breakfast food comas around my feet, but ran across this cute picture of Baby Howard.

My baby boy is getting gray now, but he still looks like a puppy to me. He's been a lot happier since Annie came to live with us, though he would never admit it OUT LOUD or anything. His heart has healed from the loss of Winnie, who mothered him and washed his face and protected him from scary brothers.

Eating Turkey at Grammys House

This year all of us puggies got
invited to Grammy's house
fur that howliday that's all about
what we do best: EATIN.

Mommy said she grew up on this farm and
helped her maw and paw grow crops
and they had cows and everything.
I don't know nothin about cows except
I hear they are delishush.

I was real polite and helpful during the meal.
I poked people's arms every few minutes so
they knew I was available fur taste testin stuff.

Annie helped with the dishes.

When we got home, we were all egg-zhausted.

Annie's kitchen training payin off big time.

Daddy Adores Me

Annie gettin smoochies
from the Daddy

Anniebelly sez:
My daddy adores me, what can I say? Thanks to our clever puggley friend Eduardo for a great idea - posting a picture of the parental units. Mommy is always behind the camera so here is a picture of my daddy, whom I have wrapped around the littlest piggy toe on my cute little paw. He adores me, and who can blame him?

Elvis, the Birthday Boy

Elvis the Pug lives in San Diego with his sister Dandy and his mom, Mindy. His favorite thing besides snuggling his puggy sister and getting hugs from mom is the double double cheeseburger from In and Out Burger. I got to spend the day with Mister Elvis, his fatty sister Dandy, and his mom Mindy a few months ago. Once you've seen his smile, you won't be a bit surprised to see why Elvis draws a crowd everywhere he goes in his deluxe puggy stroller. Here's to you big boy!

Oh, hey, I didn't see you there. Who might you be?

A word of advice pal, you gotta watch out for the little fat female.
She thinks she's the boss of everypuggy around here.

Gimme a smoochy cutey! Don't tell my brudder, k?

The Story of Bambi, the "Pug With A Boston Accent"

Bambi, Adopted and Loved by Pug Rescuers
In the Arms of the Angels
November 2008

Bambi: Update November 19, 2008
From Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescuers in Houston

Bambi crossed Rainbow Bridge this morning peacefully in a special garden surrounded by flowers and love. Her cause of death was congestive heart failure due to her previous owners not administering heartworm prevention.

Bambi left us this morning after dealing with a bad heart that was so damaged by heartworm disease there was no predicting how long she would be with DFW Pug Rescue. She became one of our hospice cases and lived in a home with Pugs. She was sent to us via "Theresa and Charly" who thought she was a Pug and we headed out to pick her up. We thank both of them. Upon arrival to pick up this Pug, out came an elderly Boston Terrier, skinny, shaky but immediately kissed me on the face. We would never leave her behind. We put her on the website as our "Pug with a Boston accent."

Her prognosis was grim but DFW Pug Rescue never turns its head away. She lived over a year. It was such a privilege to be able to care for this little girl and actually watch her bounce back for a period of time. We knew her time was short. Bambi is now at peace with her Maker and playing with all of those who have crossed Rainbow Bridge before her. Her bed is empty tonight and there was one less bowl to fill and it hurts but in time it will lessen. God just made room for another one to come our way. We wait patiently.
