AnnieBelly's Latest Acquisition

AnnieBelly breaks in her latest acquisition.

This here is AnnieBelly

I was perusin' lovely bloggies today and happen to read an important story about Aunt Josie's new sock monkey bed from Walgreens. Lo and behold I realized I don't got no sock monkey bed! *Annie stomps paw and steam comes outta her ears*

As soon as I informed my secretary she grabbed her car keys and went to Walgreen to correct this terrible oversight. Did she come home with the proper sock monkey I had ordered? Nope. But she did find this fluffy puppy dog bed and said I should give it a try. I carried it up and down the hall and then I chewed on its eyeballs and then I shook it till the seams rattled, kinda like I do Howie when he is particular annoyin.

I do love my puppy dog bed, it's nice and it's....it's.....zzzzz....zzzzzzzzzz

Tanner Marlow, Private Eye Puggy, Meets Howie

This here is Howie.

I got a new foster brother this week named Tanner. Maw sez he is real well behaved, but I'm taking care of that problem as quickly as I can. I already taught him how to get rowdy and bark at mealtime, pee on the deck instead of in the yard, and how to steal Annie's toys just cuz it annoys her.

I've got a list of about twenty thousand other important Howie Tricks of the Trade to work on with him, so I hope he sticks around fur a while. Tanner used to have his own harem in a place called Oklahoma where they made baby pugs like marshmallows on an assembly line. He got his first bite of cheese ever in his whole life yesterday, and his eyes got all buggy. I told him if he tells me how he broke outta that jail up there, I'd tell him which drawer the cheese is stored in. Here's his story:

Tanner Marlow, CIA

Tanner Marlow, Private Eye Pug.

You have undoubtedly heard of me. I escaped from Abu Growl prison in Marlow, Oklahoma, last week with the assistance of my contacts in the DFW Pug Rescue organization. My covert deep underground sources had tapped out a puggy SOS and lo and behold, the famous rescue peeps came with their capes and tights and PugOWeen T shirts and got us all out of a bad situation.

I was the stud puggy in Marlow with my own harem, but foster mom says I am currently the only pug in her household who does not pee indoors or misbehave. I do enjoy scratches and pats and lovey dovey looks from ladies, but I'm just a little afraid of men. My foster dad and I get along just fine, though, especially after he offered me a bowl of stew with meaty muffin sauce. I am about 7 years old and will be wanting to relocate my headquarters soon.

If you would like to hire me to be your official furever puggy, please fill out an adoption application for Tanner Marlow. You'd better hurry, though, with my smile and sparkling personality, I won't be looking for new digs long!

Even a spypuggy's gotta chillax sometime

Howie Not Amused by Annie's Prezzie

Howie Waking Up From Tooth Surgery

Annie's Gift to Howie

This here is Howie

I went to see Dr. Carter this morning about my teefs and he said it looked great. I have no idea why AnnieSmelly thinks I need dentures. Somepuggy needs to explain to her this is not funny. Just cuz Dr. Carter was wearing a six foot long necklace of all my teeth when I arrived at the clinic this morning is no reason to assume I don't got not teeth. I happen to have just enough teeth left to bite somepuggy on her fat behind if she don't watch out.

I'm just sayin.

AnnieBee Travels to FreddyBurg

This here is Annie - mom and dad took me to FreddyBurg last week. We left
the stinky boys at home, out of the public eye, where they belong.

This is my Dad, he carries me around and does my bidding.
He's a big guy, but, trust me, he's wrapped around my littlest pinky toe.

This is me thinking what it would be like to be a city dog like
my heart-throb Bajas. I think I could get used to the bright lights!

One should always peruse potential purchases carefully in order
to assess how they will fit into the current AnnieBee Collections.

I arrived at mommy's art show in Freddyburg fashionably late
and was adored by all my peeps. I take my job as Activity
Director at Flower Mound Art Studio very seriously.

Did you really think I would leave the store without a toy? Daddy had to
pick me up and run me over the scanner because I refused to release
this acquisition for checkout. Can you blame me? He SQUEEAKSSS!!

I mean the sparkleys belong to Annie and I'm just not real good at sharing the good stuff. Anyhoo, say howdy to my pal RubyKins! She bosses around her brother Rocky and her two lab brothers, too, who live in terror of her very presence. See why I admire her so???

Remembering Winnie Wiggles - Heaven's Jiggliest Angel

Winnie Wiggles, Howard's Big Sister
Photo taken Oct 21, 2007

Today is the second anniversary of the death of the little heartbeat at my feet, Winnifred Wigglepants. She was my velcro pug and my love, and I miss her every moment of every day.

This is her diary entry on dogster the day she passed:

Winnie died this morning very early while she was in the care of the tech at the ICU. I think she was very tired. She was my brave girl and was such a big part of our lives. Please say a prayer that she is comforted now.

She loves breakfast-time so much. I hope that she is enjoying scrambley egg and a bowl of delicious kibble this morning and making the angels laugh with her roo roo roo morning song and breakfast time spinning.

Who will wash Howie's face now? Who will sit on my feet when I am on the 'puter? Who will keep dad company in the kitchen when he is cooking? Our little one with such a big heart is gone, and it all happened so quickly and unexpectedly.

We were so blessed to have her with us for just 2 short years. What an extraordinary little dog she was.

I told her last night it was okay to go - she was sitting up in her oxygen cage at the ICU for 2 days, waiting for me. She always sat and waited for me. The moment she laid down was when she passed.

Please hug your babies for me today and say a prayer for angel Winnie. She was cherished.

Heavenly Missive - Tribute to Wiggles

Whippy creme and scrambled eggs are
Way up here in Heaven
In case you too
See only blue and wonder what you're gettin

They're other things like angel wings
With fur that's never sheddin'.
There's no disease or achin knees
and wrinkles smooth and silken

I fall asleep and dream of you
and times when we were given
to sprint and run and tug on toys
and dash to mom for lovin.

Tonight no tears oh Howie dear
because I have been taken
I’ll kiss your cheek and whiskers sweet
And heal the ache within you.

The pain it fades and goes away
And even loss feels lighter
When time moves on then pushes back
All that separates us.

Fatties in Fetties - GQ Pug Edition

Java in his preppy sweater
vest from Aunty Melissa and
Cousin Emmypants

Howie sez Annie looks like an
overripe tomato in her new fettie
but Annie sez she is Da Bomb.

Howie aka GQ Puggy

The three fatties in their fetties from
Aunty Melissa and Cousin EmmyPants

The most exciting prezzies arrived at the Medina Foster Home for Wayward Pugs! Bran new sweater vests from Aunty Melissa and Cousin Emmy of PugNotes just in time to ring in the New Year! Howie enjoyed a special bonus moment of tearing up the tissue wrapping. Melissa of Pugnotes creates amazing designs and critter art and we have loved and adored her and her Activity Director and Number One Studio Assistant Emmy-Pants fur just about furever.

What a wonderful gift, we could not believe our eyes! Annie was feeling especially cute in her red outfit and immediately began shopping for matching shoes. Howie quickly discovered that wearing a fabulous blue sweater attracted treats from admiring hoomans and Java gave his beautiful orange sweater three toes up and circle snaps shortly before falling into a post-brekkies coma on his favorite pillow snuggled in the warm, soft outfit from his Aunty.

Thank you so much Melissa for these beautiful sweater vests! The fatties never looked so good!

Annie's Early Christmas Prezzy

This here is Anniebelly!

*blows kisses* Do you notice anything different about me?? Besides the fact I am wearing my adorable Christmas coat I mean. *bats eyelashes* Look closely, do you see anything PINK with HEARTS on it??? Something that might make a little puggy girl's heart go pitty pat if she were to receive it in the MAIL from her hunky hunky puggy boyfriend Bajas???

Well if THAT doesn't make your heart go pitty pat, here is something that will. Have you ever seen such a dreamboat Santy? This here is my boyfriend Bajas from way across the world. He sent me this sweet new prezzy collar and a card expressing his love and affection for me. And who can blame him? I am, after all, puggy-cuteness in every way! *Howie makes gagging motion with his paw*

Thank you Bajas Hunny Bunny for my howliday gift, I love you sweetie! I will airmail you a little kissy as a reward. xoxoxo

Thinking About an Angel at Christmas

The Jiggliest Angel

This week 2 years ago was the last good week little Winnie Wiggles had during her three month fight with GME encephalitis. Winnie was my heart, my velcro girl, and my best friend. My fondest hope is that I will see her again someday.

Ony the Pug - One Step at a time

Ony and Melissa, his foster mom

From Melissa, Ony's Foster Mom:
"Ony grows stronger every day and makes me realize that
hope is always there and to never give up.
I'm not giving up on him no matter what
because he has not given up on me."

Ony the Pug is 7 years old and has a hard time walking and standing up. Ony's family said they were moving and could not take him with them. He came to Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue about a week ago and was taken to our neurologist's office for a myelogram and a CT scan Wednesday. This will tell us if surgery will help him.

Dr. Ducote and her staff were encouraged with the progress Ony has made under his foster mom Melissa's care. He is now standing and walking - or trying to walk. Previously, he was incontinent and now is letting Melissa know when he needs to go out. She carries him out to the grass and he will relieve himself and walk over to the edge of her patio to be let back in. Melissa says he can maneuver on grass better than floors or concrete.

Ony is another little soul who gives those around him courage. We are going to do everything we can to help him get back his quality of life and find a loving home. We are so thankful to Melissa for the love she is giving him in his foster home.
