Howie Opens Holiday Prezzies
first foster pug, Mister Pug. Don't let the name fool ya,
he could pee on a formal dining room chair leg with the best of 'em.
Today the mama said we got a prezzie in the mail from Mister Pug.
Now, I didn't just fall off the turnip truck yesterday, I know he can't
go to the post office cuz of federal regulations about peein on mail
and important stuff like that, so I 'spect this wuz from his Mama, Auntie Julie.
Right away I seg-gested that mama consider the fact that Annie is
20% fur, 80% fat, and should get none of this delishush stuff Mister
Pug sent TO ME. Sharing is for the birds *makes rude spitting noise*.
C'mon Dad, how difficult can it be?
Three gi-normous cookies, three hungry puggies?
I don't think Mister Pug wudda wanted us to work for these
yummies, he's jest like me and believes in instant gratty-fication.
at Dad that sounded like HOLY COW YOU GAVE THEM THE WHOLE BOX
but I'm not sure, it cudda been something different since English is not my
first language. Just one more reason we enjoys havin' Daddy around.

Pres. Bush Selects Cheese Security Team Leader Java the Pug

From the Java Cheese Blog:
By now you all have probably heard that President Bush is moving right here to Dallas. Well, it was no surprise to me, Java Cheese, that our new neighbor has asked me to come by from time to time to keep a googley eye on the cheese situation in Preston Hollow. After all, everypuggy knows I am a connoisseur of growing all forms of cheese, even five minutes after a good scrubbing in the bathtub.
I call him Bushy
I told Bushy (he likes me to call him Bushy cuz we are pals like that and he calls me Cheesy) that of course I would consider the position, but first I would have to consult with Annie Bossybritches, since she is the ruler of all she surveys around here. And I also told Bushy I had to make sure that these important Presidential Cheese Tasks do not interfere with my nap schedule, which takes precedence over everything except for eating.
Senate Hearing will be a piece of cake
I am quite confident I can pass the Senate Panel Hearing on Monday since the only skeletons in my closet involve the badness of my brother Howard, of which you all are very familiar. And those should jest be minor problems, since they haven't actually arrested him fur anything yet, cuz anytime he wants to evade the mama or daddy he just runs under the kitchen chair and POOF he is invisible.
I do pledge and promise to stay in touch with all of yew if I do take this important position in the administration de fromage.

Baby Howard
I was going to write about the busy, busy, busy day the puggies are having, as they all lay snoring in breakfast food comas around my feet, but ran across this cute picture of Baby Howard.
My baby boy is getting gray now, but he still looks like a puppy to me. He's been a lot happier since Annie came to live with us, though he would never admit it OUT LOUD or anything. His heart has healed from the loss of Winnie, who mothered him and washed his face and protected him from scary brothers.

Daddy Adores Me
Anniebelly sez:
My daddy adores me, what can I say? Thanks to our clever puggley friend Eduardo for a great idea - posting a picture of the parental units. Mommy is always behind the camera so here is a picture of my daddy, whom I have wrapped around the littlest piggy toe on my cute little paw. He adores me, and who can blame him?

Elvis, the Birthday Boy
Elvis the Pug lives in San Diego with his sister Dandy and his mom, Mindy. His favorite thing besides snuggling his puggy sister and getting hugs from mom is the double double cheeseburger from In and Out Burger. I got to spend the day with Mister Elvis, his fatty sister Dandy, and his mom Mindy a few months ago. Once you've seen his smile, you won't be a bit surprised to see why Elvis draws a crowd everywhere he goes in his deluxe puggy stroller. Here's to you big boy!

The Story of Bambi, the "Pug With A Boston Accent"
Bambi: Update November 19, 2008
From Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescuers in Houston
Bambi crossed Rainbow Bridge this morning peacefully in a special garden surrounded by flowers and love. Her cause of death was congestive heart failure due to her previous owners not administering heartworm prevention.
Bambi left us this morning after dealing with a bad heart that was so damaged by heartworm disease there was no predicting how long she would be with DFW Pug Rescue. She became one of our hospice cases and lived in a home with Pugs. She was sent to us via "Theresa and Charly" who thought she was a Pug and we headed out to pick her up. We thank both of them. Upon arrival to pick up this Pug, out came an elderly Boston Terrier, skinny, shaky but immediately kissed me on the face. We would never leave her behind. We put her on the website as our "Pug with a Boston accent."
Her prognosis was grim but DFW Pug Rescue never turns its head away. She lived over a year. It was such a privilege to be able to care for this little girl and actually watch her bounce back for a period of time. We knew her time was short. Bambi is now at peace with her Maker and playing with all of those who have crossed Rainbow Bridge before her. Her bed is empty tonight and there was one less bowl to fill and it hurts but in time it will lessen. God just made room for another one to come our way. We wait patiently.

Not My Best Side
From the Anniebelly Chronicles:
As you can plainly see, this is not the picture of me I would have posted on the blog today. Mommy's been playing with a new gadget for her IPhone and it takes pictures that make noses look really big. It also makes buggy eyes buggier and makes little googley eyes farther apart. Why on earth she thinks this is a good idea is beyond me. I just hope Bajas doesn't see this. And if Howie sees it, I am never gonna live it down. Can anypuggy please tell me where the DELETE MOMMY'S BLOG POST button is???

Best of Pugoween 2008
Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue had a pawsome turnout on October 26, with over 200 puggies in costume. Each year people travel from hundreds of miles away and from all across the US to try to win one of the sparkley trophies at Pugoween.
I was in Chicago for business and MISSED THE SHOW!!! Fortunately, the pug dad attended and took pictures of the event. Here are some of the best photos from Pugoween 2008, the most important fund raiser for our rescue group here in Dallas. And here is a BIG shout out for pug rescuers all across the country who hosted pugoweens to raise funds for these precious babies. It is our hope and prayer that every homeless pug finds a loving furever home.

Texas Colorscapes
One of the prettiest places to visit in historic Fredericksburg, Texas, is a drive called The Loop just outside of town. The trees and hills are beautiful backdrops for the cactus and wildflowers, and if you wait about five minutes you usually will see deer, too. This painting, Fredericksburg Glow, was finished this week from my studio on Saturday, with help from my three furry assistants.

Bajas the Cyberpug
From Annie: I think it's so romant-ical that Bajas called me from across the miles, even if he did charge it to Howie. His mommy posted this picture of him and you can clearly see he is dreaming about me. Howie says it looks like Bajas is having a nightmare. Just wait til Howie sees his phone bill. That will teach him! *blows kisses to Bajas*

Say Toodles to Skippy Wu, Fashion DivaPug

We want to roll out the red carpet (covered with honorary puggy hair, we might add) for our dear friend Skippy Wu. *waves hi to Skippy Wu* Skippy has launched her own blog so wriggle over and say hi to her. Tell her that Howie Pee sent you.
Our mommy is not always the smartest potato in the sack, it took her TWO or THREE times to figure out that one of our best-est puggy friends Skippy is blogging now! As you can see, Skippy to My Wu is quite the beauty queenpuggy. She has her own line of gorgeous accessories with her mama's shop, Linden Line Designs. Can somedoggy please explain why our mommy can't make beautiful thingies for us? Our mommy is still learning to make toast. *sniffs air suspiciously* Uh oh! we better go and check, we smell toast burning....
Signed with excitedness,
Howie, Annie, and Java Cheese
My First Winter Without You
Tonight they're predicting temperatures in the 40s. Summer is gone and every change is a reminder that you were beside me at this time last year. You are still with me now, but in my heart, my little velcro muffin and my shadow, my little love.
