Oscar The Pug, VIP

A day without Oscar is
like a day without sunshine!

We have the addition of a fourth little soul visiting this week - Oscar the Pug. Oscar first came to stay at the Medina Foster Home for Wayward Pugs three years ago after his family could no longer care for him. He was 11 years old when he first stepped paw inside my door.

As you can see, Oscar went on to great fame and fortune after his adoption by his furever family. Last year, he was selected as Mister January for the Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue Calendar. He is, undeniably, a hunky, good looking fellow, and his new family has him absolutely spoiled, as it should be.

If I had three wishes, one of them would be that every little creature, every cat and every dog, would have a safe home and loving family to care for them. Please remember animal rescue when you make out your gift lists at the end of this year. Every rescue organization is in greater need now than we have ever been before. And while you're at it, give your critters big hugs for me!

Oscar was Mister January for the Pug Rescue
Calendar last year. He is, after all,
a rather hunky, good looking fellow!

Me giving Oscar goodbye smoochies as he
prepared to leave on his adoption day 3 years ago.
To my right is my sweet velcro pug, Winnie Wiggles.

Howie Concerned About Annie's Crooked Head

This here is Howie:

I am still in charge of the blog even though I let Maw upload that mooshy picture of Java on his birthday. I decided to let that slide since we all got extra treats that day and all. I posted this here picture to show you guys my weird sister AnnieFattySmellyBelly with the crooked head. She is the fat one on the left.

I am real worried about her crooked head and I seg-jested to mama that we send her off to some special hospital in the Alps real soon so they could examine her and keep her for a few months of close bob-servation.

Maw acted like she didn't hear me. Can you believe it??? Anyway I also heard through the grapevine that my pal DozerPants escaped from prison and went off in search of mini meatloafs. DozerMan, if yew are readin this and you FIND them meatloafs, you can hide out at my house. I'll let you have Annie's pillow after she is exported to Switzerland.

Java Cheesy the Birthday Boy

Today is my birthday. As you can see,
I am a mature, handsome puggy man.

This is me when I was little. I was the
first puggy to join the Pugpant Household
and trained mom on all the important rules
of puggy ownership.

And because I was numero uno puggy, mom
had no clue about portion control, as you can
see from my belly. Alas, those days of endless
eating are over.

Howie Takes Over Blog and Posts His Favorite Pictures of Hisself

This here is Howie.

I'm takin over this here blog cause my maws a big LOSER. *makes L shape over his forehead, despite his lack of thumbs* She has been hangin out in da art studio makin a mess instead of lettin me check in on my mail and my girlfriends and sech.

Here is da first picture I am puttin on my blog since it is my favorite. I'm jest gonna post all my favorite pictures of myself from now on and pretend AnniSmelly has moved to Montana with PudgePants.

Aunty Mindy made me this here BAD PUGGY T shirt a long time ago. I am too fat to wear it now but I still love it. It's much better than that other thing maw was gonna make me wear fur PugOWeen but we won't talk about that. *gives Anniebelly the evil googley eye*

Maw made me wear this costume last year and I admit am am hansum but the hat kept fallin into my eyes and blockin my view of the food bowl so I ate it. Maw howled and hollered when she found out I ate the hat but it was leather so it was protein and good fur me. She needs to go eat some fiber and calm down or somethin.

If yew are gonna be at PugOWeen look for my maw. She will be the crazy one in the green T shirt runnin around takin pictures. She said I have to stay home cuz I don't know how to behave in public. Have you ever heard such hooey in your life??? sheesh.

An International Pug With Style and Charisma - Bajas

Annie's one true love, Bajas
Fearless and Handsome

An award for Annie
From Bajas Puggy

This here is Anniebelly

I was just doing my regular online shopping this morning on the PugNetwork when I discovered this amazing prezzy from Bajas, an international pug of intrigue who makes my heart go pitty pat.

Thank you for the cookies Bajas! *blows Bajas kisses* They are delish. I'm not real good at sharing, just ask the Stinky Boys. So I shall keep these all for myself and think of Bajas as I consume each one without inhaling, chewing, or pausing for a single breath.

Annie's Theory About Boys

This here is Anniebelly.

As you know, Howie has been locked up in CratePrison for some weeks now, for his knee surgery. This has given me ample time to contemplate these new living arrangements, which I happen to think are just fine and dandy. With all these toys to myself, all the comfy beds to choose from, and all the kitchen beggin spots being occupied mostly by me, I have come to one conclusion. Girls are More Evolved

Now, there are, of course, some exceptions to that rule, such as my hunky fella, Bajas, who is an international city dwelling pug of culture and means. On the other paw, the EXTREME other paw, you have neanderthals such as my brother Howie Pee, who thinks that a middle name that mimics an illegal passtime is hilarious. Okay, that's enough thinkin for today. I have to run chickees, I have a pawdicure this afternoon. *blows kisses*

This here is Howie,
sneaking outta prison for my urinary event of the day. Did any of yew pugs notice that if you read Annie's post out loud it sounds like this:

BLAH BLAH BLAH

heh heh. Oops! Gotta Run, the Warden's heading thisaway!!!

Warden Intercepts CratePrisoner Howie's Mail

Linus - WHAT? They've locked up
HowiePee?? My mentor, trainer, and
UnclePUG??

Perhaps if I destroy this here turtle
they will throw me in the slammer and Howie
and me can work out an escape plan.
That would make me CratePrisoner 619248!

As soon as Maw's back is turned,
I'm gonna hop that durn fence and
go and rescue Howie!

Actual Letters Found Under Howie CratePrisoner's Mattress

Dear Linus, this here is Howie.

Maw is makin the bed or some such useless nonsense when in fact she should be making me scrambley egg. Anyway, I jest opened her mail again and saw a TURBLE picture your Maw sent to her. I thought I would warn yew cuz it is probably gonna end up on the blog. Pack your bags and go to Tahiti for a week, my friend, until the media frenzy over this latest picture blows over. All I can say is when your Maw points that flashy thing at yew in the future, turn your head. Hey, it works fur me!
sincerely,
Your Uncle, Idol, Mentor and still CRATEPRISONER 619247 Howie Pee

Dear CRATEPRISONER 619247 Howie Pee,

Howie's Knee Surgery - Send Food Pronto

From Howard Pee Pugpants:

Maw says in two days I'm getting extra treats cuz Dr. Radish is going to be operating on my knee tomorrow morning. Now I don't know much about surgery, but any doctor whose name is food is alright in my book. I have been getting all sorts of awards from my pals lately. I want to say thanks to all my pals cuz when I added it all up, I had twenty dozen and Annie only had three. So that means I am more popular and Annie is a L-O-S-E-R *Howie makes an L sign with his toes over his forehead* and mouths the word. Congrats to everypuggy who stole awards from this blog lately. I am proud of yew.

If you all don't hear from me fur a few days, it's because of the happy pills I will be takin.
Maw sez my blog posts are bad enough when I am not under the influence of narcotics. Please be thinking about me, k? Send me food, k? Good stuff. In case you don't got my address here it is:

Joshua the Pug - A Miracle Rescue Story

Joshua -- May 2009

Joshua -- June 2009

Dallas Fort Worth Pug Rescue takes in all pugs regardless of age or medical condition. DFW Pug Rescue volunteers work tirelessly to save every little pug we can. Here is the story of Joshua in the words of his foster mom, Joann. Joshua won her heart and Joann eventually adopted Joshua into her own family.
From Joann

In May I received a call to foster a pug in need. He had demodectic mange, hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms ~ the poor little guy. His name was Joshua and he looked awful. He had no hair, he had scabs everywhere, and he smelled really bad.

When I went to Westcreek and they brought him out, he was so sad looking. All I really saw was the most amazing, beautiful amber eyes asking for love! I took Joshua home and started making him welcome there. He was just a little shy at first, I think he knew how bad he looked and smelled. We did not not care, we started him on his meds and then baths.

He was not making a whole lot of improvement at first and then I thought, because he had developed some secondary infections on his skin, maybe I should just scrub him like a burn patient, so I did. After several scrubbings, the yeast and staph were gone. It left his skin really dry, so we started to bathe him with baby shampoo mixed with olive oil scalp treatment. We were amazed that after two shampoos his hair just started sprouting in so fast that in less than a week he was solid black again. He now has the softest skin and the shiniest coat.

Joshua has turned out to be the most beautiful black boy we had ever seen. He never once fussed about any treatment. He was always laid back and I think almost enjoying the baths and being showered with constant love. Of course, during all this treatment, we fell in love with little Joshua and chose to adopt him and make him a huge part of our family. He will be loved and taken care of like he deserves and will never have to go through all that again.

After many trips to the vet he is the best pug ever! We want to thank DFW Pug Rescue for saving Joshua and so many other poor pugs. If it were not for them many, many pugs would not be saved.

Howie's Shiny New Marvelous Award and a Gift For PacoPuggy

From Howard Pee Pugpants:

I got this here award from my good pal and staunch supporter StubbyPug recently. Notice how large and shiny it is, and how it sparkles in the light. I think it is a much better award than Anniebelly Fattypants got. She has been marchin around all week talking about how she is an "Award Winnin Pug" and I got to tell yew it is enough to make yew want to hurl.

Instead of sharing this award I'm gonna keep it all to myself, like I do all my awards. I am bizzy creating a new award, tho, and if yew are darn lucky I might let you share it. I can't decide whether it is going to be the MY MAW HUMILIATED ME ON MY BLOG AWARD or maybe the I PEED ON IT SO IT IS MINE AWARD.

This here award I'd like to share with my little buddy, PacoPuggy. He is gettin' real good at peein' on stuff and he's a great guy, even though he is admired by a kitty and all. Here you go Paco! enjoy!

Which one would you rather have? I personally like the first one, but that's just cause my middle name is Pee.

Let me know which one yew like best. Who knows. If I am in a good mood and Annie hasn't spanked me that day, I might choose the one yew like.

Feel free to steal these awards and paste 'em on yer blog if yew think yew earned 'em. Don't ask permission. Askin permission is fur sissypugs.

Annie Home From Hospital and a Very Special Award

Me snuggling Howie after my surgery. Mom said the vet kept my little mole.
I explained to him it was my beauty mark but he said it needed to go!

I'm feeling just fine now, but if Howie calls me FrankenPug
one more time I'm gonna go Matrix on him.

Thankyou for the award CocoPuggy! I am so honored!
I think this means Coco loves me, and who can blame him?
*bats eyelashes and blows Coco kisses*
I would like to share this award with my official
honeypot puggy, Bajas, whose mommy is traveling right now.
Here you go sweetie!

Texas Twisters Visit Howie's House

Howie and Annie Prepare Fur the Storm!

Last night we had twisters and thunderboomers in North Texas, with Flower Mound right in the center of the activity. At 6:15 pm, the tornado sirens started wailing. At 6:30 pm, the trees outside started whipping around and the wind started blowing UP from the ground. The doggy door flap flew open and stayed that way, a first! I grabbed blankets, pillows and the box of dog snacks and called the puggies to follow me into the bathroom. Annie had one of her new toys and thought this was going to be a great game of Keep Away from Mama. I finally had to grab her (and the beloved toy) and carry them into the bathroom with her brothers.

We were right under that red blob to the left of Dallas. Two tornados touched down in Flower Mound. This morning there were trees snapped in half throughout our neighborhood and roof shingles everywhere. It was a wild ride, but we survived! We're really lucky because the next door neighbors have two giant trees by our house and they had them both trimmed last week. Otherwise we may have had a lot more damage!

Thanks to everyone who sent warm wishes to Anniebelly for her surgery Tuesday. She is doing great and is especially enjoying her two new toys and her new bed.

Stay safe and dry out there! Over and out from Still Stormy Texas! xxxooo
